A Complete Guide How to Get Started Using CationCrew

What is CationCrew

With CationCrew you can create so called Alerts. They allow you to subscribe to game changes of your favorite streamers. CationCrew is totally free of charge. We also don't sell your data to any third-party. This sounds impossible, but we are still in evaluation phase of CationCrew. CationCrew will stay free of charge forever to a certain extent!

How to login

In order to get started using CationCrew you'll need a Twitch account. That's already it. If you already have one you can go straight to the login page and login with your Twitch account.

After you pressed the login button, you will be redirected to Twitch, where you authorize access. When you already did that once you may be redirected to your CationCrew dashboard directly.

Is the login secure?

Yes! We are using Twitch for login. We never see any of your Twitch credentials and only have limited access to your Twitch account. We cannot see your stream-key, for example. We cannot change anything of your account. The access is reduced to the absolute minimum.

Your data is stored encrypted in a data center of AWS (Amazon) in Frankfurt, Germany.

Creating your first alert

There are multiple ways you can configure your alerts so it fits your likings. You can also combine multiple alerts for the best experience.

Get notified whenever a streamer changes the category

This type of alert will send you a notification to your preferred delivery method (Email, Telegram, Web push) whenever the selected streamer changes the category.

  1. Open your dashboard
  2. Click on the + button in the bottom right
  3. Click on the Channel text field and search for a streamer you follow on Twitch
  4. Select the desired search result
  5. Press the Save button, the other settings are not relevant for this type of alert

Get notified whenever a streamer plays a specific game

This type of alert will only notify you when the selected streamer plays a specific game.

  1. Open your dashboard
  2. Click on the + button in the bottom right
  3. Click on the Channel text field and search for a streamer you follow on Twitch
  4. Select the desired search result
  5. Select SPECIFIC to define a specific game you want to get notifications for
  6. Click on the Game text field and search for any category on Twitch
  7. Select the desired search result
  8. Press the Save button, the other settings are not relevant for this type of alert

Ignore a specific game

Let's say you already have one alert for all game changes of your favorite streamer, but you don't like that one game and want to avoid getting notifications for it. For this to make sense you would want to create an alert for all game changes first. The ignore rule we create now will exclude from that.

  1. Open your dashboard
  2. Click on the + button in the bottom right
  3. Click on the Channel text field and search for a streamer you follow on Twitch
  4. Select the desired search result
  5. Select IGNORE to define a specific game you want to get notifications for
  6. Click on the Game text field and search for any category on Twitch
  7. Select the desired search result
  8. Press the Save button, the other settings are not relevant for this type of alert

Now you will get notifications for all game changes except for the game you selected in step 7.

Deleting an alert

You can delete alerts at any time to stop notifications.

  1. Open your dashboard
  2. Click on the streamer where you want to remove an alert
  3. Press the remove button on the desired alert rule
